84 nominations on final day

As many as 84 nominations were filed in the district on Friday, the last day for filing papers for the Assembly elections, bringing the total number of nominations filed to 164. Prominent among those who filed their nominations on the day included V.S. Sivakumar, O. Rajagopal, and R. Selvaraj.

Ten nominations were filed in Varkala. Sunilkumar (Trinamool Congress), R. Linees (BSP), Aji (BDJS), Saji (BDJS dummy candidate), Sabeshan (Independent), E. Jabbar (PDP), Vivekanandan (Independent), Sudevan (Independent), P. Vijayan (Independent), and Salu R. (Independent).

In Attingal, Jayantkumar B. (Shiv Sena), C.R. Thulasi (Independent), and R. Raju (LDF dummy candidate) filed their nomination.

K.S. Ajithkumar (Congress), Ambili V. (Independent), Ajithkumar (Independent), and Ajith (Independent) filed their papers in Chirayinkeezhu.

In Nedumangad, V.V. Rajesh (BJP), Raveendran Nair (Independent), Raveendran (Independent), Balamurali (BJP dummy candidate), Soman (Independent), and Divakaran (Independent) filed their papers.

In Vamanapuram, C. Anilkumar (BSP), G. Ajith (Shiv Sena), Maniraj (NCSBM), Anil K. (API), Venu (BDJS dummy candidate), Sugathan S. (Independent), and O. Binumon (Trinamool Congress) filed their papers.

Sasikala (Trinamool Congress), Kochumani (BSP), Udaykumar (BJP dummy candidate), Surendran Pillai (Independent), Murugan A. (Independent), N.A. Vahid (Independent), Muraleedharan (Independent), and Prasad P. (Independent) filed papers in Kazhakuttam.

In Vattiyurkavu, K.G. Mohanan (Independent), Saju Amirdas (Congress dummy candidate), Binu D. (Independent), Baby D. (Trinamool Congress), and Mackenzie (BSP) filed their papers.

In Thiruvananthapuram, 12 candidates filed papers — Raveendranath K.K. (Independent), Mohanambika D. (BSP), Sreejith T.R. (Akhila Bharata Hindumahasabha), Sherly Susan Zacharia (Trinamool Congress), Antony Raju (Independent), P.G. Sivakumar (Independent), Sivakumar R. (Independent), Murukesan T. (AIADMK dummy), Subi (Independent), Ashok Kumar (BJP dummy candidate), V.S. Sivakumar (Congress), Biju Ramesh (AIADMK).

Shamlaja Beevi (Trinamool Congress), A. Naushad (Akhila Kerala Trinamool Party), O. Rajagopal (BJP), Saileswara Babu N. (Independent), and Sivankutty (Independent) filed their papers in Nemom.

In Aruvikkara, N. Shoukathali (CPI(M) dummy), A.P. Kakkad (TMC), Rashid (Independent), and Sabarinath G. (Independent) filed nominations.

In Parassala, Binoy (BSP), Johnny Thambi (CPI(M) dummy), Sasidharan Nair (CPI(M) dummy), Shajahan S. (Independent), Jayachandran Nair (BJP), and Biju B. Nair (BJP dummy) filed their papers.

Biju S.R. (BSP), K. Sasikumar (Trinamool Congress), and Vinod Rajkumar (Independent) filed papers in Kattakada.

In Kovalam, T.N. Suresh (BDJS), R. Viswanathan (BDJS dummy), M. Sugathan (SRP), S. Shaji (Akhila Kerala Trinamool Party), Pramod Kumar (Independent), and Vinod (Independent) filed their papers.

R. Selvaraj (Congress), Prabhakaran (BSP), V. Surendran (BJP), and P.K. Rajmohankumar (CPI(M) dummy candidate) filed their papers in Neyyattinkara.
