An elderly woman complained that her neighbours were not allowing her to take water from a public tap, and were pilfering water from it using a hose. The panchayat authorities were asked to take immediate action.
In a case of family dispute, a student approached the commission alleging that her mother and her brother were harassing her. The mother said her second husband had attacked her son from her first marriage and had shifted out along with their daughter. The commission asked the brother to return computer and other belongings of the girl.
Marital discord cases too reached the commission. A woman alleged that her husband was assaulting her and refusing to give her access to mobile phone to talk to her family. The commission directed the husband to let her use the phone. The youth contended that his wife suspected him of an extramarital relationship. The youth was urged not to contact someone against his wife’s wishes.
