260 more Kerala buses stripped of fitness certificate

The Motor Vehicles Department cancelled the fitness certificate of another 260 stage carriers on Sunday for removing the speed governor mandatory on board or tampering with the gadget to make it ineffective in checking speed. On Saturday, 309 stage carriers were stripped of the certificates.

Stage carriers from Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam do not figure on the list of cancellation. The highest number - 101 - of fitness certificates cancelled on the second day of the drive was in Kottayam, followed by 36 in Vadakara, 25 in Thrissur and 17 in Alappuzha.
