Two employees of the 108 emergency ambulance service set a lofty example in honesty when they returned cash amounting to Rs.1,05,000 to its rightful owner, whom they had just taken to the Government Medical College Hospital here.
Sherif of Poojappura, who had met with an accident, was transported to the Government Medical College Hospital here by a 108 ambulance on Tuesday.
After dropping off the patient, the ambulance personnel — Ragesh and Abhilal — were cleaning the ambulance when they found the cash lying inside the vehicle.
They immediately went back to the hospital and returned the money to Mr. Sherif's son.
“We at the 108 ambulance service are proud of Ragesh and Abhilal for having set such an example in honesty by returning the cash to its rightful owners,” Radheesh, general manager of Ziqitza Healthcare, which is managing the 108 ambulance service for the government, said in a statement here.
More trust
He added that the honest act would serve to increase the trust the public had in the 108 emergency ambulance service.
