106.2 km of roads to be upgraded

State and district road stretches of 106.2 km are to be upgraded at a cost of Rs.279.31 crore under the public-private partnership (PPP) annuity mode.

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy told mediapersons here that the Cabinet that met on Wednesday had given approval for the work by Road Infrastructure Company Kerala Ltd., a special purpose vehicle set up under the Public Works Department.

Five roads are to be taken up for upgrade in two packages and these fall in the districts of Kasaragod, Kannur, Kottayam, and Thiruvananthapuram.
