101 saplings planted on Kowdiar Palace premises

Minister for Forests K. Raju joined others in planting 101 saplings on the Kowdiar Palace premises on Thursday in connection with the World Environment Day celebrations.

The event was organised as part of ‘Nagaram Madhuram,’ a programme organised by We are With You Foundation along with the royal family of erstwhile Travancore.

60 lakh saplings

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said the government had already taken the initiative to distribute 60 lakh saplings through different educational institutions.

Mr. Raju said he would drop back at the palace to evaluate the progress after one year.

Aswathy Tirunal Gouri Lakshmi Bayi, Pooyam Thirunal Gouri Parvathy Bayi and Adithya Varma of the royal family were among those who attended the function.
