10 high-mast lights to ensure road safety in city

The District Collector has accorded sanction for the installation of 10 high-mast lights in and around the capital city.

These are being installed at a cost of Rs.42 lakh from the MPLADS funds of Shashi Tharoor, Thiruvananthapuram MP, a press note issued here said. One high-mast light would be installed at the main gate of Attukal Bhagavathy Temple and another at Medical College Hospital.

Lights would also be installed at Mannanthala Junction, Moideenpalli Vizhinjam Harbour Junction, Paruthikuzhi Junction, Kuravankonam Junction, Vellaiyikadavu Junction, Thiruvallam Junction, and at Estate Junction, Pappanamcode.

Safety aspect

This was expected to result in significant improvement in road safety for both motorists and pedestrians and for local residents and commercial and other establishments, the press note said.
