Youth stabbed to death in Karkala

A 25-year-old person was killed at Palli village in Karkala taluk in Udupi on Tuesday. The police said Arun D. Dalmeida (25) was attacked with sharp instruments. His body was found about 800 metres from the Palli Bus Stand on a muddy track. K. Annamalai, Assistant Superintendent of Police, said, that Mr. Dalmeida was living in Bangalore and had shifted back to his native place, Palli, about five months ago. “We have picked up some suspects for questioning in the case,” he said

Molestation bid

Two men were booked by the Subramanya police for allegedly attempting to lure and molest two 17-year-old girls. Their complaint said on Tuesday, Jayaprakash and Ravi, two persons from their village in Sullia taluk, took them to a park in Mangalore city where they attempted to grope them. Police are yet to arrest the accused.

Hit by a water tanker

A 25-year-old man was killed while his friend, the pillion rider, was injured after their motorcycle was hit by a water tanker near Bythurli on Tuesday. The Mangalore Rural police said Hitesh, a resident of Moodshedde, died on the spot. The water tanker driver admitted injured Akhil to a city hospital, the police said.
