Yeshwantpur train via Kerala, T.N. from today

August 04, 2013 03:51 pm | Updated November 17, 2021 04:18 am IST - MANGALORE:

A new train between Mangalore and Yeshwantpur via Kasaragod and Salem will be introduced from Sunday, while a special train will make four round trips between Kacheguda and Mangalore Central this month, beginning Tuesday.

Running over demand

The train to Yeshwantpur disregards the demands from people in the district that it should be run via Arasikere as the present route – requiring nearly 18 hours – is not convenient for people from this region but benefits only commuters from Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

A railway release said Train No. 06565/06566 Bangalore–Mangalore–Yeshwanthpur weekly express will make its inaugural journey from Bangalore City on Sunday at 11 a.m. and reach Mangalore Central at 3.30 a.m. on Monday.
