Woman arrested, cannabis seized

The Barke police on Thursday arrested a 21-year-old woman for alleged illegal possession of 47 grams of cannabis.

According to the police, Fathima (21) had come to the Mangaluru District Prison to meet Asif, who is lodged in the prison.

KSISF check

The Karnataka State Industrial Security Force (KSISF) spersonnel searched her and found her hiding a packet of cannabis inside her clothes. The KSISF personnel handed over Fathima to the police.

The police said that Fathima is the wife of Abdul Rahim, who is accused of selling cannabis. Abdul Rahim had been released on bail.

Abdul Rahim and Asif came to know each other in the prison, according to the police.

The police said that they are investigating whether Fathima was providing cannabis to Asif for his personal use or was selling it to him.
