Varsity to conduct inter-collegiate competitions

College students of Mangalore University will have an opportunity to exhibit their talent this month.

The Directorate of Student Welfare of the university will conduct inter-collegiate cultural competitions at five colleges on select days between September 7 and September 23. In all, there will be 24 competitions in five categories. The competitions will be conducted in literary, fine arts, dance, music, and theatre categories. Quiz, elocution, and debate competitions will be conducted on September 7 at Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheswara College, Ujire.

On-the-spot painting, collage, poster-making, clay modelling, cartooning, rangoli, and spot photography competitions will be conducted on September 13 at Crossland College, Brahmavara. There will be folk, tribal, and classical dance competitions on September 14 and September 15 at Bhandarkar's Arts and Science College, Kundapura.

Ramakrishna College here will host competitions under the music category on September 16 and 17. This includes classical vocal solo (Hindustani or carnatic), classical instrumental solo (percussion), classical instrumental solo (non-percussion), light vocal (Indian), Western vocal solo, group song (Indian), group song (western), and folk orchestra.
