The two bus shelters on the Valencia Main Road that were in a poor state got a new look on Sunday.

Garbage removed

A big mound of garbage in the area that had not been cleared for the last few days was also cleared.

These were among the works done by volunteers in Valencia on Sunday as part of the Swachch Mangaluru campaign of Ramakrishna Mission.

This was the 17{+t}{+h}week of the campaign by the Ramakrishna Mission.

It has set the campaign for 41 weeks.

Volunteers started with clearing the area in front of Fatima Retreat House. They repaired a portion the bus shelter that was in a poor state and made a facility for bus commuters to sit. Similarly, they gave a new look to the bus shelter at Valencia Circle.

Cement slabs

Volunteers also cleaned the area around the circle. They cleared the silt accumulated in the drain adjoining Roshni Nilaya and covered it with cement slabs.

Ramakrishna Mission’s chief swami Jitakamanandaji, MLCs Ganesh Karnik and Ivan D’ Souza, students of Yuva Brigade, Ramakrishna Mission, and Balakashrama participated in the exercise on Sunday.
