Uppinangady stone-throwing: police book 18 cases

The Uppinangady police have registered 18 cases in connection with the stone-throwing incident in Karaya village near Uppinangady on Friday involving two communities. The incident occurred when participants of the Virat Hindu Hrudaya Sangama in Puttur were returning home. The police have also decided to install closed circuit television cameras in sensitive places.

Fresh trouble bid

While prohibitory orders have been clamped in Karaya since the incident, attempts by a few people to create trouble on Sunday were foiled by the police, he said
