Udupi: Independents file papers

Three candidates filed their nomination papers for the Assembly elections in Udupi district on Saturday, the third day for filing nominations. The Assembly elections would be held on May 5.

Deputy Commissioner M.T. Reju, in a press release, said that three independent candidates had filed their nomination papers for Udupi (Tukaram Kotian ) and Byndoor (Abdul Hazid and Lokesh Borkara) Assembly constituencies.

The last date for filing of nomination papers is April 17, while the scrutiny of these papers will take place on April 18. The last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is April 20, the release added.
