Udupi gets ready for Dharma Sansad

Issues including construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya and cow protection to be taken up

The preparations for the Dharma Sansad, being organised by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), to be held here from November 24 to 26, are in the final stages.

A large number of sants and sadhus would be participating in the Dharma Sansad. Saffron banners and buntings adorn the main streets of the temple town.

The Dharma Sansad would be inaugurated by Shivakumar Mahaswami of Siddaganga Mutt, Tumakuru, and Veerasomeshwara Rajadesikendra Shivacharya Swami, Ramabhapuri, at the Royal Gardens, here at 10 a.m. on Friday.

Nirmalanandanath Swami of Adichunchungiri Mutt would release a souvenir, Paatheya, at the inaugural function. Mohan Bhagwat, Sarsanghchalak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), would deliver the keynote address. The conference to be held the same afternoon (3.30 p.m. to 6 p.m.) would deliberate on topics such as “Pathway for construction of Ram Temple at Ayodhya” and “Programmes to protect and promote cows”. An exhibition, Hindu Vaibhava, would be inaugurated at the Royal Gardens at 4 p.m. on Thursday by Bhagayya, Sahasarkaryavaha of the RSS.

On the second day (November 25) of the Dharma Sansad, the topics which would be discussed are “Efforts needed to promote social harmony” from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and “Prevention of conversion – Programmes to protect our culture” from 3.30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Both these topics would be discussed by various groups.

Resolutions

The Dharma Sansad would pass its resolutions from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. on November 26. The sants would lead a procession, Shobha Yatre, at 2.30 p.m. on Sunday.

A mega Hindu Samajotsava would be held at the MGM College Grounds at 4 p.m. on the same day. Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, would deliver the keynote address at the samajotasva, while D. Veerendra Heggade of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala would deliver an address of the entire Dharma Sansad. Vishwesha Tirtha Swami of Paryaya Pejawar Mutt would preside over the function.

A convention of the Samaj Pramukhs or heads of communities of different districts of the State would be held at Rajangana from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday. Surendrakumar Jain, International General Secretary of VHP, would deliver the keynote address.

Alva’s Nudisiri team would present cultural programmes from 8.15 p.m. to 9.45 p.m. at Royal Gardens on November 24 and 25.
