Seminar on Ayurvedic dietetics, nutrition

SDM College of Ayurveda will organise a national-level seminar on Ayurvedic dietetics and nutrition, titled Ahara Manthana-2017, here on Friday.

B.R. Dodamani, organising secretary of the seminar, told reporters on Tuesday that more than 500 delegates from across the country would participate in the seminar.

Over 150 scientific papers would be presented and 10 food models would be on display.

G. Srinivasa Acharya, HoD of PG studies in Kayachiktsa and Manasaroga, SDM College of Ayurveda, Udupi, will deliver a lecture on “Vision vitalizing version of Virudha Ahara”.

Sajitha K., HoD of Swasthavritta, Sri Sri College of Ayurvedic Science and Research Hospital, Bengaluru, will speak on “Descriptive design of deliberating diet and nutrition in Ayurveda”. In the post-lunch session, there will be a lecture on “Standards on salutary diet in Sthoulya”.

B.M. Hegde, former Vice-Chancellor of Manipal University, will inaugurate the seminar at 9 a.m. Shreekanth U., principal of SDM College of Ayurveda, will preside over the inaugural function, Dr. Dodamani said. K.R. Ramachandra, Yogish A., Sandesh Shetty, were present.
