Two workers washed away in Bantwal

The Bantwal Rural police gave the names of the workers as Sumati Shetty (42) from Paledamara and Shekar Poojary (30) from Kelodody Mijar.

Two labourers working at the vented dam in Kesottu near Bantwal were washed away in flash floods on Thursday.

The Bantwal Rural police gave the names of the workers as Sumati Shetty (42) from Paledamara and Shekar Poojary (30) from Kelodody Mijar.

While the body of Sumati Shetty was found on Friday morning, the body of Poojary was found on Thursday evening.

According to police, Sumati Shetty and Shekar Poojary were among the nine labourers engaged in filling mud on the either sides of the vented dam. There was sudden increase in the water flow and Ms. Shetty was washed away. Mr. Poojary, who tried to save Ms. Shetty, also followed.
