Two persons were arrested recently in connection with a series of theft cases near Dharmasthala.

According to the police, Panner alias Shivan Velu Pillai of Tamil Nadu and his friend Ranganath from Andhra Pradesh stole articles from pilgrims when they took bath in the river.

The police had formed a special team after one Vishwanath Gowda filed a complaint on June 10 claiming to have lost cellphones and cash, cumulatively worth Rs. 3 lakh, when he was bathing in a river at Hardalla.
