Two are critical following accident

A college student and the cleaner of a private bus are said to be hospitalised in critical condition after the bus, in which they were travelling, overturned after being hit by a lorry near Nantoor junction, here on Wednesday.

According to Assistant Commissioner of Police Uday Nayak, the private bus was coming towards Nantoor junction from Moodbidri, while the lorry carrying fish was approaching the junction from Udupi side.

At the junction the two vehicles collided and overturned after moving ahead a few meters, Mr. Nayak said.

Unmath, an ITI student, and Ganesh, the bus cleaner, who where on the foot board of the bus, are said to be in critical condition. Seven other injured persons, including the driver and cleaner of the lorry, were admitted to a private hospital.

The traffic at the junction was affected for nearly two hours.
