Tulu music album ‘Bolpu’ released

A Tulu audio-visual music album CD titled ‘Bolpu,’ produced by Kalarava, a cultural students’ group of Vaikunta Baliga College of Law, was released here on Saturday.

The eight-minute CD has a song with a social theme. It has been produced at a cost of ₹2 lakh with the help of sponsors. It has been shot at Kemthur and at a “guttuda mane” (manor house) at Shettybettu here for about five days.

Though of a short duration, the CD deals with the story of a young woman who is engaged. It ends with a positive message. The actors in the album include Ceral Sweta Alva, Deviprasad Shetty, Prajwal Bangera, Nishan Bangera, and Prashanth Kunjar.

While Deepak Amin and Trupti Salian have sung the song, Sunadh Gowtham has composed the music for it. Rakshith Chinnu is the cameraman, while Praveen Poojary is the production manager and Shobhith Naronha is its director. Santosh Kumar has done the editing work.

According to Mr. Poojary, the actors in the album were from other places such as Mangaluru, Shirva ,and Udupi. But the production team comprised of the Kalarava members.

“Many albums are made with themes such as love. We wanted to do an album which gave a social message to the society. We will soon be uploading the album on the Youtube so that all people can see and share it,” he said.

Earlier, Bhojaraj Vamanjur, Tulu film actor, who launched the album, said that the society should change its mindset about women who were sexual assault survivors. He lauded the Kalarava team of the college for brining out the album, which he said, would give a positive message to the society.

Rohith Amin, professor at the college, Smita Suvarna, actress, Prasanna Shetty Bailoor, Sandeep Shetty Manebettu, Marvin Shirva, Sharath Uchila, were present.
