Train to Verna to have more coaches

Southern Railway has announced addition of six second class sitting coaches to Mangalore-Verna-Mangalore passenger train with effect from April 30.

The Udupi-based Rail Yathri Sangha and the West Coast Rail Yathri Development Committee have been demanding additional coaches to train (No. 56640/56641).

Southern Railway has announced that consequent to change in advance reservation period to 120 days, Chennai-Central-Manga

lore- Chennai Central Expresses (12685/12686) now running six days a week will be converted into a daily express with effect from August 20 from Mangalore and August 21 from Chennai Central.

Puducherry-Mangalore Weekly Express (16043) now leaving Puducherry on Tuesdays will leave on Fridays with effect from August 17.

Its pairing train (16044) leaving Mangalore on Mondays will leave on Saturdays with effect from August 18.

It has announced change in the numbers of the following trains (with days of running, existing number, changed number and date of the new number coming into effect in that order in bracket): Puducherry-Mangalore Weekly Express (Friday, 16043, 16855, August 17); Mangalore-Puducherry Weekly Express (Saturday, 16044, 16856, August 18); Coimbatore-Tirupati Tri-weekly Express (Tuesday, Friday, Sunday, 12758, 22616, August 17); Tirupati-Coimbatore Tri-weekly Express (Wednesday, Saturday, Monday, 12757; 22615, August 18); Tirunelveli-Bilaspur Weekly Express (Sunday, 12788, 22620, August 19); Bilaspur- Tirunelveli Weekly Express (Tuesday, 12787, 22619, August 21).

Renumbered

Puducherry-Mangalore-Puducherry Weekly expresses (16043/16044) will be renumbered as 16855/16856 and the composition changed from August 17 from Puducherry and August 18 from Mangalore.

The trains will have one AC 2-tier, one AC 3-tier, six sleeper class, six general second class and two luggage-cum-brake van coaches.
