The Vishwa Hindu Parishad's (VHP) International Principal Secretary Praveen Togadia on Sunday reiterated the stand of the Sangh Parivar that only the temple of Lord Ram can come up in Ayodhya.
Mr. Togadia was addressing the ‘Hindu Samajotsava' organised by the Sri Hanumad Shakti Jagarana Samiti here.
He said the Ram temple had to come up on the entire 67 acres of land in Ayodhya. “The Centre should bring in a law to hand over the land to us and allow construction of the temple,” he said.
Mr. Togadia was participating in the Hindu Samajotsava organised by the Sri Hanumad Shakti Jagarana Samiti at the Nehru Maidan.
Criticised
Mr. Togadia criticised Governor Hans Raj Bhardwaj for not granting his assent to the Karnataka Government's Bill banning slaughter of cows. He asked people to begin use of products such as soaps and shampoos made by using cow's urine and dung which had many medicinal properties. A campaign had begun for the purchase of cow's urine at Rs. 5 a litre.
This would help farmers generate income from cows that were not giving milk and desist from selling them to slaughter house, Mr. Togadia said.
Vishwesha Tirtha Swamiji of Pejawar Math said the Centre was not in a position to take decisive steps in combating “Jehadi” terrorism.
To divert attention of people from its failure, the Centre was now speaking about “Hindu” terrorism. This was a creation of the investigation agencies and none of the accused persons had been convicted so far, he said.
The Pejawar Math swamiji called upon sages to take active part in the welfare of the people belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and tribal communities.
This would help establish harmony and feeling of brotherhood among various castes.Ramanand Swami from Kolya, Gurudevananda Swami from Odiyoor, Rajashekarananda Swami from Gurupur and P. Dayananda Pai from Centuary Builders spoke.
