At least three persons were injured when a portion of a building under construction caved in near Thokkottu Junction on Sunday.

The incident took place at around 8.30 p.m. While two of the three injured were rescued, efforts to rescue the third person who was under the debris was under way. The commercial-cum-residential complex was coming up near the Krishna cinema at Thokkottu.

U.T. Khader, MLA, who visited the spot, alleged that the Fire and Emergency Services personnel who arrived on the spot did not have the required equipment such as cutting tools for rescue operations.
