The eagerly awaited The Hindu in School (THiS) Chess Competition 2016 will be conducted here on August 6 at Sri Sudhindra auditorium of Canara Girls High School, Dongarkery.
The competition will be held under the aegis of the United Karnataka Chess Association.
The spot registration for the competition will begin at 8.30 a.m. The competition will be held between 10.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m.
The event will be held for juniors (from classes 5 to 8), seniors (from classes 9 to 12) and sub-juniors (from classes 1 to 4).
Those interested in participating in the competition can visit the website www.thehindu.com/thischess and register their names by paying a fee of Rs. 100 per participant.
A confirmation e-mail will be sent by The Hindu to students who register their names.

Anantha Prabhu, Director, Vikas Pre University College will inaugurate the competition at 10 am. J T Radhakrishna, Director, Mangaluru International Airport will be the chief guest at the valedictory function at 4.30 pm.
