The third edition of the three-day annual finance conclave ‘Finomenal’ was organised by the T.A. Pai Management Institute (TAPMI) here recently.
Finomenal with its theme ‘Govern, Strengthen, Transform’ provides a platform to students to showcase their knowledge and also network with industry professionals. This initiative brought together economists, corporate executives, bankers, regulators and fund managers to discuss recent trends, emerging issues, challenges and opportunities in the industry and the way ahead.
Ganti Murthy, chief guest and former head, Fixed Income, IDBI Asset Management Ltd., said, “Good governance is when we do not just inculcate but assimilate regulations in the system. Thus, as finance enthusiasts, we need to move ahead by improving governance standards and have a collective responsibility to keep up with good governance to bring change,” he said.
Rajiv Shah, professor and chairperson, Finance and Strategy, TAPMI, spoke on changing trends in corporate governance.
The three-day conclave consisted of inter-collegiate competitions such as TAPMI-Bloomberg Olympiad, Accretion 1.0, and Govern It Right. The winner of this year’s Bloomberg Olympiad was TAPMI, while the winner of Accretion 1.0 was IIM-Calcutta, and that of Govern It Right was TAPMI.
