April 09, 2010 05:56 pm | Updated 05:56 pm IST - MANGALORE:

K. Devananda Upadhyaya, General Manager (Marketing), Syndicate Bank, inaugurated a counter at the bank's branch on Kadri Main Road here on Thursday for issuing e-stamp papers. The counter will issue tamper-proof e-stamp papers, each with a unique identification code for specific purposes, which has to be mentioned by the customer. It will print and issue stamp paper of any denomination.

Fee

The bank will charge Rs. 10 for stamp papers of up to Rs. 100 and Rs. 15 for face value from Rs. 101 to Rs. 5,000. Stamp papers of Rs. 5,001 and above will be issued free of cost. Panduranga Attavar, Sub-Registrar, said that purchasers should specify whether the e-stamp paper was for registration purposes or not as his office would not register an e-stamp not issued as “registrable”.
