Suspended pathologist from Udupi moves court

A pathologist of the blood bank at the district hospital, who was suspended has filed a police complaint and moved the court.

Veena Shetty, Secretary of Jeevana Sangharsha, an NGO working with persons with HIV, had alleged that the pathologist, J. Sharath Kumar Rao, had not returned a loan of Rs. 14 lakh. She had also alleged that Dr. Rao had disclosed her HIV status.

On Wednesday, Dr. Rao said he had filed a complaint against Ms. Shetty, Basrur Rajiv Shetty, Chairman of State unit of Indian Red Cross Society and Ramachandra Bairy, District Health and Family Officer, at a charging the three persons with extortion and forgery.
