Two vehicles were damaged after they were pelted with stones Saturday night in Ullal, where restriction of movement in groups has been in force till Sunday night.
A few unidentified men threw stones on the windshield of the car owned by Chandrashekar Uchil, a Bharatiya Janata Party activist, who was the party candidate for Mangalore Assembly constituency in the elections last year. According to police, Mr. Chandrashekar was on his way to Ullal to drop two persons after a party meeting. The incident occurred in Bangra Bail in Ullal around 10 p.m. None were injured.
Similarly, a few persons threw stones on the car of Saleem Ullal in Bangra Bail a few minutes after damage to Mr. Chandrashekar’s car.
Police Commissioner R. Hitendra said persons allegedly involved in the two incidents have been identified and they will be arrested shortly. Mr. Hitendra said police were on the look out for the persons involved in damaging a private bus near Kerebail bus stop on February 7. Police were also searching for persons allegedly involved in damage to a place of worship in Konaje on February 7 night.

Police on Sunday prevented MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and MLC K. Monappa Bhandary from visiting houses in Mogaveerapatna that suffered damage on February 5.
Around 20 people including the MP and the MLC were on the way to Mogaveerapatna where a 19-year-old boy was assaulted and three houses were damaged. Police stopped them at the Thokkottu junction and asked the MP and MLC to return as visiting the place could escalate the situation and would also violate the probhibitory orders.
Mr. Nalin and Mr. Bhandary insisted that they would go ahead with the visit. Following a long discussion at the junction, the police asked the two public representatives to get permission from Police Commissioner.
The two called on Mr. Hitendra at the latter’s office where the two agreed to visit the place on Monday when the restriction would be removed.“The restriction is likely to be withdrawn on Monday,” he said.
