A 19-year-old man was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting his 13-year-old stepsister, here on Thursday. M.B. Boralingaiah, Superintendent of Police, said on Friday that the man allegedly sexually assaulted the girl on November 11. Though the girl complained to her mother, he was let off with a warning. But he allegedly assaulted the girl again on November 18, after which the mother and the girl lodged a police complaint.
The police arrested Sunil on the night of November 28. The District and Sessions Court on Friday remanded him to judicial custody for 14 days.
The medical examination of the girl was conducted and the report is awaited.
Girl ends life
A 15-year-old girl committed suicide at Moodugiliyar village near Kota on Friday. The police said the girl was upset after her mother did not give her Rs. 200.
