SKSSF denies link to Ullal Friday prayer clash

The Samastha Kerala Sunni Students Federation (SKSSF) has condemned the recent violence in Ullal, and said that devotees offering the Friday prayers should not have been assaulted.

Two persons were allegedly stabbed following the clash over holding of Juma (prayer offered on Friday) at the Mohiuddin Juma Masjid. The move to hold prayers had the backing of the SKSSF.

Two police sub-inspectors and two policemen were also injured after they were pelted with stones while dispersing members of the two groups.

Addressing presspersons on Monday, SKSSF General Secretary Sadakathullah Faizi said the organisation had not asked its supporters to take part or direct the assault, and it was only individuals with a personal reason.

“Everyone has the freedom to pray everywhere…but even when they entered the mosque illegally, force should not have been used.”

Conference

SKSSF will organise an ‘adarsh sammelana’ (a conference) on October 24 in the city where issues relating to cyber theft and cyber terrorism, kidnapping, crimes, and other teething issues afflicting society. The conference would be held at Mangalore Town Hall at 2 p.m.
