Rahul Gandhi, AICC president, on Tuesday urged the members of Congress Seva Dal to increase their activities throughout the country.
He was speaking after inaugurating the Rajiv Gandhi National Academy of Political Education at Tenka Yermal village in Udupi district. He also addressed the State office bearers of the Congress Seva Dal, on the occasion.
Mr. Gandhi said that the Congress gave a lot of importance to discipline within its ranks.
It was essential to strengthen the party throughout the country.
Workers of the Congress Seva Dal should put in all their efforts to bring the Congress party to power at the Centre and to retain power in the State. It was essential for politicians to have training, Mr. Gandhi said.
Siddaramaiah, Chief Minister, G. Parameshwara, President of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), Mallikarjuna Kharge, Leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha, D.K. Shivakumar, Minister for Energy, K.C. Venugopal, AICC General Secretary, M. Veerappa Moily, former Chief Minister, Vinay Kumar Sorake, Kaup MLA, were among those present.
