Set your house in order, Poojary tells BJP

May 24, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 09:35 am IST - MANGALURU:

Senior Congress leader B. Janardhana Poojary on Saturday asked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to first set its house in order before attacking the Congress and its government in Karnataka.

Speaking to presspersons here, Mr. Poojary took strong exceptions to the former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa’s recent accusations on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reminded the BJP of its government in Karnataka where nearly 16 Ministers were facing several charges. BJP’s Minister G. Janardhana Reddy flagrantly misused the office, bringing shame to Karnataka at the national level, he said.

The BJP could never dream of coming to power in Karnataka in the near future and Mr. Siddaraamaiah would continue to be at the helm of affairs for the next 15 years, he declared. No other Chief Minister had introduced so many social welfare measures, including the free rice scheme to the poor like Mr. Siddaramaiah, he said.

While Mr. Yeddyurappa as the Chief Minister continued to be mute spectators towards ‘scams’ of several of his colleagues, he himself was under cloud and was involved in scams, Mr. Poojary alleged. During the BJP government, its Ministers and legislators were busy watching ‘porn’ in the legislature, he chided.

Unlike during the BJP rule where bickering among ministers were common, Mr. Siddaramaiah has been taking cabinet colleagues along with him, he said.

The former MLA Vijayakumar Shetty, the former Mayor Mahabala Marla and others were present.
