Seminar on ‘Reforms in policing systems' tomorrow

The Manipal University, in association with the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative (CHRI), New Delhi, will organise a seminar on “Reforms in policing systems and methods” here on May 4.

A press release issued by the university on Monday stated that topics such as “Need for police reforms”, “What exactly is needed to reform”, “Supreme Court on police reforms” and “Role of citizens in fructification of police reforms” would be discussed.

Experts such as the former Commissioner of Police, Mumbai, Satish Sahney, the former Director General of Police, Bangalore, Ajai Kumar Singh, the former Director General of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy, Hyderabad, Kamal Kumar, and the Coordinator-Police Reforms Programme at CHRI, New Delhi, Nawaz Kotwal, would participate in the seminar, the release said.
