Seminar on ‘recent trends in communication'

The Department of Physics, Milagres College, in collaboration with the Association of Physics Teachers of Mangalore University, will be organising a two-day UGC-sponsored national seminar on “Recent trends in communication” on the college premises at Kallianpur near here on December 16 and 17.

Archana Dabade, Head of the Department of Physics at the college, said that experts would be delivering lectures on topics such as “modes of communication”, “digital communication”, “mobile computing”, “mobile communication”, “satellite communication”, “optic fibre communication, 2G, 3G and Internet” and “free space optics”. Delegates from different parts of the country would be attending the seminar.

Physics

The seminar was being organised for teachers, students, and academics who were involved at different levels in studying physics.

Lalit Mohan Patnaik, Honorary Professor, Centre for Electronic and Design Technology, Indian Institute of Science, and former Vice-Chancellor of Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, Pune, would inaugurate the seminar and deliver the keynote address, Prof. Dabade said.

Principal of the college Nery Cornelio and President of Association of Physics Teachers of Mangalore University Gerald Pinto were present.
