Schools will not be shut, says Sadananda

Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda reiterated on Friday that the Government was not closing down the schools with less than five students but was merging them.

After inaugurating the district Kannada Sahitya Sammelan organised by the district Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Mr. Gowda said the Government had issued a circular giving instructions on how to deal with schools which had less than five children. He said that a committee comprising representatives of taluk and gram panchayats would be formed to decide the case of each school .
