The State Bank of India here on Wednesday launched ‘Mangalore Go Green’ campaign with the Rotary Club under which it gave a free sapling for opening an account with the bank. The theme of the campaign was to plant a sapling and be a green champion. The chief general manager of the bank Rajni Mishra symbolically distributed saplings to a few customers on the occasion. The bank and the club would do so in all its branches in the city on August 28.

Speaking to presspersons on the occasion, she said that the bank would take this to all its branches across the State in a phased manner. It is a new initiative, she said.
