Sangh Parivar leaders seek anticipatory bail

Five Sangh Parivar leaders, against whom police have booked a case relating to violence in B.C. Road on July 8 during the funeral procession of RSS activist Sharath Madiwala, have filed applications before the District Sessions Court here seeking anticipatory bail. The applications were filed on July 18.

The Fourth Additional District and Sessions Judge will hear them on Saturday.

The leaders are Satyajit Surathkal, secretary, State unit of the BJP Backward Class Morcha; Sharan Pumpwell, State convener of Bajrang Dal; Harish Poonja, Dakshina Kannada president of BJP Yuva Morcha; Muralikrishna Hasantadka, Dakshina Pranta Goraksha Pramukh of the Bajrang Dal, and Pradeep Pumpwell, a Bajrang Dal leader.

They have been accused of conspiring the stone-throwing during the procession.
