Rotary Club to donate equipment to Wenlock hospital

Rotary Club has agreed to donate physiotherapy equipment worth Rs. 25 lakh to the Government Wenlock Hospital here, according to Rajeshwari Devi, District Surgeon and Superintendent of the hospital.

Stating this at the meeting of the Arogya Raksha Samithi of the hospital here on Tuesday she said that the building of the physiotherapy unit at the hospital required repairs before installing the equipment to be provided by the club. The samithi, headed by minister in-charge of Dakshina Kannada B. Ramanath Rai, approved Rs. 15.6 lakh for the repairing the building.

Dr. Devi said that a laboratory for the specific use of students of the government nursing school in the premises of the hospital set up at an estimated cost of Rs. 25 lakh is ready for inauguration next week. The meeting agreed to renovate the building of this 100 year old school at an estimated cost of Rs. 61 lakh during the current year.
