The new Jungle Lodges and Resort was opened in the sprawling green 320- acre Pilikula Nisargadhama on the outskirts of Mangalore on Friday. The booking for this new resort – 16th of the JLR property – will be open from February 15.

The new resort located in the midst of the green hilltop gives a good view of the Phalguni River. Built on the traditional “Guttu Mane” concept, the new resort offers 21 twin-bed air conditioned accommodations. This includes two executive cottages, eight cottages, two suites, six deluxe rooms and three ayurvedic cottages.

“We plan to present this as a family destination,” said P. Anur Reddy, the Managing Director of Jungle Lodges and Resorts. Mr. Reddy said facilities for boating in the Phalguni River were also available. To start with, JLR will bring peddle and roving boats. It has also proposed to have a swimming pool on the campus.

Mr. Reddy said JLR would open the Pilikula Resort for day visitors. By paying about Rs. 1,000 per head, visitors will be provided all facilities for the day from morning till evening.

The tariff for the Pilikula resort will be Rs. 3,000 for executive cottage, and Rs. 2,700 per night for other cottages.

Mr. Reddy said Bhimgad Adventure camp – the 17th resort of JLR – will be opened in Khanapur in Belgaum district on February 9. JLR has proposed to open a resort in Apsarakonda in Honnavar taluk in Uttara Kannada – a beach known for breading of rare turtles.
