Residential complex for civic workers inaugurated

K. Raghupati Bhat, MLA, inaugurated the Civic Workers Residential Complex constructed by the Udupi City Municipal Council (CMC) here on Wednesday.

Mr. Bhat said that the three-storey complex had been constructed at a cost of Rs. 80 lakh. Work on the ground and first floors had been completed. Each floor had four flats. Each flat had an area of 580 sq. ft.

The CMC would construct another residential complex for civic workers opposite this complex. The proposed complex would also have 12 flats, he said.

‘Important role'

Civic workers who played an important role in keeping the city clean were being provided better facilities, Mr. Bhat said.

President of the Udupi CMC Dinakar Shetty, councillors Geeta R. Shet, M.R. Pai, Anandi, Kiran Kumar, Ravi Amin, Devendra Prabhu and Shyamprasad Kudva were among those present.
