Rain damages house in Surathkal

An average of 55.4 mm rainfall was recorded in the district in the past 24 hours ended at 8 a.m. on Tuesday. A house was damaged near Surathkal in heavy rain.

According to revenue authorities, part of the house of Prema was damaged at Kalavaru in Surathkal hobli. The authorities have assessed the loss at Rs. 15,000. Bantwal taluk received the highest of 78 mm rainfall in the past 24 hours ended at 8 a.m. on Tuesday. Belthangady taluk received 69 mm, Mangalore 57 mm, Sullia 45.4 mm, and Puttur 27 mm during the same period. The water-levels in the Netravathi and Kumaradhara rivers at Uppinangady gauging station was 16 metres. The water-level in the Netravathi was 5 metres at the Bantwal gauging station.
