Dakshina Kannada district in-charge Minister B. Ramanath Rai on Saturday said the government will provide land to the Transport Department to have its own premises for the Assistant Regional Transport Officer’s office at Bantwal.

Speaking after inaugurating the newly sanctioned ARTO (KA 70) at Melkar near here, Mr. Rai said the opening has addressed the pending demand of people from Bantwal and Belthangady regions to have easy access to department facilities. Transport Commissioner B. Dayanand handed over smart card driving licences and registration certificates to a few symbolically. Senior officials from the department were present.
