Many II Pre-University students found Day One of their examination going rather “easy”.

The exams began with History and Computer Science. Students who had taken the exams in three city colleges said the paper was “easy”.

Archana and Amitha, emerging from the classroom at St.Aloysius PU College, said about the History paper, “We felt it was easy”. Arun and his friends at Sharada PU College said that except for the one-mark questions, which were “a bit difficult”, the rest of the Computer Science paper was easy. Abhijith, from the same college, said it had “common questions, like previous years”.

Dinesh Shetty, Joint Chief Examiner at the St.Aloysius PU College centre, said the day one went smoothly. Elvis C.Lewis, Principal, St.Aloysius PU College, said that of the 200 students given hall tickets, 176 were present. “Everything is OK, no problem, no malpractice, exam started at the exact time,” he said. Thimmaiah K.R, Deputy Director of the Pre-University Education said that a total of 32,267 students took the PU exams.

Accused writes exam

Akshay, one of the accused in the homestay attack case, took the Pre University examination in History at Milagres P.U. College. Janakamma, Principal, Milagres P.U. College, confirmed this.

Debarred

One case of copying was reported from Mangalore city during the second PU examination on Wednesday. A student was debarred after he was found copying in Padua PU College.

The student was not from Padua PU College and was a private candidate, Shobha, Chief Examiner at the college, told The Hindu.

The Deputy Director for Pre University Education confirmed the incident.
