Protests in support of Hazare continue

Several associations and groups organised processions to the office of the Deputy Commissioner here on Thursday in support of Anna Hazare, who has launched a struggle against corruption.

Motorcycle rally

In the morning, a motorcycle rally was organised by the South Canara Photographers' Association.

Secretary of the association Arun Kumar said though it was not possible to root out corruption with the Lokpal Bill, people should unite to fight corruption.

Members of Jaya Karnataka, Rashtriya Parisara Mathu Vanyajeevi Premigala Okkoota, Tulunada Rakshana Vedike and Rakshana Vedike Rikshaw Ghataka formed a human chain around Hamilton Circle and raised slogans against corruption.

Members of the Advocates' Association, Mangalore, too staged a protest. President of the association S.P. Chengappa spoke.

In the evening, the Lions Club, and Art of Living took out processions to the Deputy Commissioner's office.

Members of the Indian Medical Association staged a dharna, their second protest after a short candle light march on Wednesday. A candle-light vigil was held at Bunts' Hostel.
