A large number of Christians carried out demonstration condemning attacks on Christians reported across the country. The event was organised by the Mangalore Diocese.

Addressing the gathering on Friday, activist Nelson Monis said it was unfortunate that a community that has stood for communal harmony and that worked for the literacy of the masses are subject to attacks.

“The more we are attacked, the stronger we will be,” he said.

Mr. Monis criticised Rastriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader Mohan Bhagwat for accusing Mother Teresa of religious conversion.

Another activist Roman Lobo said all they pray for was change of mind of the persons attacking Christians and damaging places of worship. The demonstration was held before the office of the Deputy Commissioner.
