Prohibitory orders extended in city

Police Commissioner T.R. Suresh has again imposed prohibitory orders under Section 35 of Karnataka Police Act 1963 in the jurisdiction of Mangaluru Police Commissionerate from 10 a.m. on August 2 to the midnight of August 8.

Accordingly, all acts of public utterance of cries, singing of songs, playing of music, use of gestures, exhibition or dissemination of objects such as placards and pictures which may affect public order would stand prohibited.

In addition, carrying of arms, cudgels, swords, spears, bludgeons, guns, knives, sticks, or lathis are banned during the period.

The orders imposed under under the same Act earlier were in force till the midnight of July 30.
