The process for social and education survey began in the district with the review of preparation for the activity, which will begin from April 11.
District Incharge Minister, B. Ramanath Rai chaired the meeting held on Wednesday. Deputy Commissioner A.B. Ibrahim and other officers attended the meeting.
This survey, which will be held throughout the state, will look into education, financial and social status of various communities. “It’s a comprehensive survey that will get status of various communities. This will greatly help government in devising welfare schemes,” said Mr. Rai.
District Social Welfare Officer Santosh Kumar said the enumerators will be collecting, among others, reasons for discontinuing education; the party he or she is affiliated to; and whether he or she is a member of a cooperative society. “As many as 57 questions have been framed. It takes about 45 minutes to collect information from one household,” he said.
Deputy Commissioner Mr. Ibrahim asked officials to ensure that they visit all households and collect truthful information within the prescribed 20 days period of survey.
