President Pratibha Patil inaugurated the new 42-acre campus of the T.A. Pai Management Institute (TAPMI) at Yembattu Badagabettu here on Thursday.

Ms. Patil unveiled the plaque in three languages — Hindi, English and Kannada, marking the inauguration. Ms. Patil then planted a mangosteen sapling on the campus symbolising the inauguration.

Governor H.R. Bhardwaj and his wife Prafullatha Bhardwaj, Higher Education Minister V.S. Acharya, Devisingh Shekhawat, husband of the president, planted a sapling each on the occasion.

The 42-acre campus is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. It has a built up area of over 1.2 lakh sq. ft. covering the Academic Building with 10 air-conditioned classrooms, a knowledge centre, and a residential facility for over 600 students and faculty.

The campus is wi-fi enabled and has a modern computer centre.

The campus library is open round-the-clock and has 33,000 books, 285 journals and 17 online databases in addition to Harvard publications.

Nearly 5,000 bound volumes of business and general magazines since 1984 have been preserved in the library along with Project Reports spanning 25 years, faculty working papers and other publications.

Director of TAPMI Saji Gopinath said: “The top-class facilities in infrastructure and intellectual strength of faculty in teaching, research and consulting set apart TAPMI from the breed of business schools that are mushrooming from throughout the country. ”.

The campus will be used for TAPMI's AICTE-approved PGDM programmes in management and new programmes such as the two-year residential PGDM in Healthcare Management and e-Governance Program for Executives (e-GPX).

With over 25-year legacy of top quality management education, TAPMI has been ranked as one of the top B-schools consistently over the years.
