P.B. Srinivas lent voice to Tulu hits

Playback singer P.B. Srinivas, who died on Sunday, has sung in at least 13 Tulu movies, said Tamma Laxmana, an art director associated with Tulu cinemas. The popular Tulu song ‘Daane ponne’ from Bolli Thota was sung by him.

Mr. Laxmana said that the first Tulu cinema to hit the screens was Enna Tangadi . Mr. Srinivas did not sing in it. The second cinema was Dareda Budedi, in which Mr. Srinivas sang ‘Nikkade dumbiyad barpe’. Thereafter, he sang in many Tulu cinemas.

He had sung ‘anyayano vichitrano’ in Bisatti Babu , ‘jodu nanda deepa’ written by Amrut Someshwar in Koti Chennaya .

Mr. Srinivas also sang in Dareda Seere , Bhagyavantedi , Saviradorthi Savithri , Aer Maltina Tappu , Bayya Mallige , Kasdaye Kandane , Yan Sanyasi Ape , Udalda Tudar and Pageta Puge .
