Passenger hurt in stone pelting on moving train

October 09, 2013 11:47 am | Updated 02:39 pm IST - KASARAGOD:

Unidentified persons allegedly pelted stones on a moving express train at Chithari between Kanhangad and Bekal Fort stations on Tuesday injuring a passenger. He was admitted to a private hospital.

The incident occurred around 5.30 p.m. as the miscreants targeted the Kannur-Yashwantpur express injuring T.A. Jasir (30), a resident of Anangoor.

Railway police sources here suspect that some students of a nearby school might have pelted stones on the moving trains as similar incident was reported two months back when a passenger train came under attack in the locality.
